Does your church have an idea for addressing an unmet need in your community? Are you ready to join hands with one or more community partners to turn your idea into reality? If you answered yes to either of those questions, consider applying for a Catalyst Grant from the Wisconsin Conference. The next application deadline is March 31.
The Catalyst program was created to support innovative, risk-taking new ministries in collaboration with others in your community. We also seek projects that further the Wisconsin Conference’s core initiatives in the areas of racial and immigration justicr.
Over the past few years, Catalyst grants have helped UCC congregations love their neighbors through projects that include:
- Providing a free meal to food-insecure community members on a monthly, or even weekly basis.
- Creating a safe place for teens who identify as LGBTQ+ when schools won’t.
- Welcoming refugees and asylum-seekers.
- Expanding respite care opportunities for individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
There are many more, and we’re eager to help your congregation add its own Catalyst-powered ministry to the list.
To share your idea, email Mary K. Gross or call her at 262-271-8990. And be sure to check out Catalyst online to learn more and apply. Your idea may be the answer to someone’s prayer.
