All authorized ministers are required to complete an Anti-Racism Training course every three years. Certificate of completion must be submitted to Andrea Vik in the Conference Office. Approved classes include:
- Any Anti-Racism course offered through The Damascus Project. Current offerings include:
- Exploring Implicit Bias Training (September-October 2026)
- Continuing the Journey – Exploring Implicit Bias 201 (Fall 2026)
- We Are Still Here: Native Americans and the UCC (October 2026)
- Exploring Implicit Bias Training (November 2026)
- Any Anti-Racism Training offered by another UCC Conference
- Any Anti-Racism Awareness Training offered by MESA (United Church of Christ Ministerial Excellence Support and Authorization).
- Any Anti-Racism Training offered by Crossroads.
- Any program offered through Nurturing Justice.
Alternative programs not listed above should be approved prior to enrollment using the form below to ensure the course meets requirements. To qualify, the alternative program:
- Must have an interactive component (e.g., small group reflection)
- Must include minimum of six contact hours
- Must include anti-bias/implicit bias component (for for Anti-Racism training)
If alternate program is approved, a certificate of completion must be forwarded to Andrea Vik in order to fulfill the requirement.
