All authorized ministers are required to complete a Boundary Awareness course every three years. Certificate of completion must be submitted to Andrea Vik in the Conference Office. Approved classes include:
- Any Boundary Awareness Training offered through The Damascus Project. Current offerings include:
- Boundary Training: A Contemplative Approach (September 2026)
- Boundary Awareness Training: A Contemplative Approach (November 2026)
- LeaderWise Boundary Awareness Training Public Offerings
- Any Boundary Awareness Training offered by another UCC Conference
- Any Boundary Awareness Training offered by MESA (United Church of Christ Ministerial Excellence Support and Authorization). Current offerings include:
- Boundary Training for Retired Ministers (also recommended for ministers preparing for retirement): October 15, 2026 (registration link TBA)
- Boundary Training for Ministers in Specialized Settings: November 9, 2026 (registration link TBA)
Alternative programs not listed above should be approved prior to enrollment using the form below to ensure the course meets requirements. To qualify, the alternative program:
- Must have an interactive component (e.g., small group reflection)
- Must include minimum of six contact hours
- Must include content related to finances and social media (for first Boundary Training)
If alternate program is approved, a certificate of completion must be forwarded to Andrea Vik in order to fulfill the requirement.
